This site is an attempt at free speech at its very best. Free speech however does not imply the right to be rude or disrespectful.

Good Morning Buenos Aires respects the diversity of its membership being acutely aware that we come from varying cultural, national, spiritual, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. Additionally, factors such as gender, age, politics, etc. play roles in creating our own unique qualities as individuals. We must always be mindful that this is important to us all as a collective species.

Therefore we should all strive to maintain the Golden Rule, or ethics of reciprocity, at all times - namely that we treat one another with the common courtesy, dignity and respect that we would like to receive in return. This concept is not new and has governed the laws of man ad infinitum. It is also a cornerstone of many of the world's great religions.

Buddhism

One who, while himself seeking happiness, oppresses with violence other beings who also desire happiness, will not attain happiness hereafter.(Dhammapada 10. Violence)

Baha'i Faith

"Blessed is he who preferreth his brother before himself." Baha'u'llah, Tablets of Baha'u'llah, p71

Christianity

"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets." Matthew 7:12

Confucianism

Never impose on others what you would not choose for yourself.
Analects XV.24, tr. David Hinton

Islam

Jeffrey Wattles holds that the ethic of reciprocity appears in the following statement attributed to Muhammad: "None of you [truly] believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself." Jeffrey Wattles, The Golden Rule (New York: Oxford University Press, 1996) 4, 191-192, Questia, 24 July 2007

Judaism

The ethic of reciprocity is set forth in Leviticus 19:18 ("Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD." NIV[1].) and Leviticus 19:34 ("But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God").
